Serious conflict in a country does not only affect people physically but also mentally. South Sudan has seen much conflict in recent years and now the country is trying to find healing for those affected. The Bible Society in South Sudan is working especially with children who have experienced trauma – thousands of children who have been displaced as they tried to escape the violence, children who have suffered violence, abduction and rape. The Bible Society is providing training and resources to church leaders to help them set up trauma healing programmes in their communities so that children can be reached with the message of hope in God’s Word.
